Years in Production
The Tanako Company in Japan issued baseball cards in 1965 and 1966, and were distributed in wax and cello packs in Japan.
While the majority of the cards issued were of Japanese baseball players, also included in both years were baseball players from the United States. Including not only major league baseball stars, the sets also would include minor league, college, high school, and other amateur U.S. players for reasons that are unknown.
The Tanako Company would go on to become the largest magazine publisher in Japan.
