Years in Production
As of 1966, Ludlow Publishing was primarily a publisher of sports and automobile magazines. A publicly owned company, at the shareholder’s meeting in Denver that winter chairman Bryce McGill announced that Ludlow would be entering the baseball card market.
That initial 1967 Ludlow set is considered today to be one of the all-time classic baseball card sets, both for it’s design and it’s impact on the industry.
While Ludlow may have been generally overshadowed due to the late entry into the baseball card arena, Ludlow cards are today recognized as sharply collectible and are a big part of most mainstream collections.
Ludlow Publishing has headquartered in the Denver area continuously since 1956.
