Years in Production
Holzauer Brewery was a beer brewer out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Holzauer included a single baseball trading card with every beer purchase of a six-pack or greater, and offered prizes (blenders, radios, loung chairs, etc.) when the “tabs” at the bottom of the cards were clipped and sent in to the company to be redeemed when a certain plateau was reached.
For this reason, Holzauer cards that have survived with the tabs intact are exceedingly scarce and fetch quite the premium when offered for sale.
Rumors have persisted for years that Holzauer actually produced an initial print run of cards for 1957, which were subsequently destroyed once the card program was cancelled, though none have ever surfaced.
